According to this, there should be many New digital functions that the Use of the services at various touchpoints for customers.
In a first step, the DHLPaket app has been completely revised and many new features have been added. The location search now shows even more details and, among other things, the utilization status of the Packstations.
DHL Paket App - the new features at a glance
In line with this concept, the new DHL Paket app was rolled out in the summer with a number of valuable features.
The app offers the following functions:
- Overview of all parcels with current status and expected delivery time
- Change in parcel delivery
- Save and manage your own shipments
- Notification of shipment delivery
- Online franking
- Mobile parcel label or printout of the parcel label
- Find locations, including detailed information, opening hours and route navigation
- Packing stations incl. utilization status
- Sending and receiving at Packstations
and much more.
One of the most outstanding new features is certainly the Display of the forecast capacity utilization status of the Packstations. This allows Packstation customers to consider switching to an alternative Packstation at an early stage, which they can use in the integrated location finder easily. Packstations, DHL parcel stores, Deutsche Post branches and other locations are displayed there. The entire Architecture of the location finder has been optimized so that, among other things, results can now be (re)loaded more quickly and easily. The User interface has also been revised and, for example, reduced from a multi-stage search process to a simple one, making it much more intuitive and easier to navigate the map. In addition, customers can now also directly access the Route guidance to a selected location.
For the Shipment tracking there is also a clearer view in the app. For example, customers can track the delivery status of their DHL shipments even more easily right up to delivery thanks to color coding and they can be notified digitally as soon as the shipment has been delivered.
To the Shipping preparation customers can buy a product and create a shipping label directly in the app. The purchase can be paid for with PayPal, for example.
The app can and should also replace the DHL customer card. Personal data is maintained there and the pick-up codes for the Packstations are also displayed.
Due to the many distributed functions and requirements, a Micro front-end architecture used. The app was developed natively and integrates the various front ends via a web view. The app therefore presents itself to the user as a hybrid app represent. The front ends use various Core & Shared Services. Technically, the front ends are based on ReactJS and use a common Bootstrap library.
Overall, the app was equipped with a new user concept and many new functions and features. In line with the digitalization strategy, many services and products were digitalized in a first step and combined in a customer-oriented app.
Post & Parcel App - combines the letter and parcel services of the DPDHL Group
At the end of 2020, many of Deutsche Post DHL Group's digital services will be combined in a single app, the "Post & Parcel App".
The new features of the DHL Paket app are also integrated here and thus supplement the functions of the previous "Post mobil" app.
According to an initial announcement, the new and central app for the German market will offer the following features:
- Consignment tracking for letters & parcels
- Buy letter & parcel stamps
- Store search incl. opening hours
- Mailbox search, incl. emptying times
- Packstation and parcel box search
- Level indicator for packing stations
- Localization and route guidance
This means that, in all probability, the new digital stamp will already be integrated there.

The former DHL Paket app is now available in the iOS App Store and the Google Play Store as the "Post & DHL" app. Since yesterday, November 30, new functions have been available for iOS that simplify the sending of letters, for example, as well as a postage advisor. These functions will certainly also be available for Android in the near future.
