Community rules- Why #AzDevCom works so well
The #AzDevCom is primarily aimed at the developer community around cloud and Azure and is organized by the community for the community. The main topics of the 4 tracks therefore also have a focus on Dev and Cloud:
- Cloud native and serverless
- IoT
- Low Code / No Code
- Open Track
The #AzDevCom has thus succeeded in creating a High quality conference and implement it virtually. The values and principles of the developer community, the so-called Code of ConductThe event's framework: open, inclusive and respectful cooperation.
With the commitment of Walter Melcher (doubleSlash) as keynote speaker and the idea of clearly organizing the Azure Developer Community Day under the Community" motto the makers of #AzDevCom provided a great moment: Walter's keynote was all about the community and emphasized what a community is: "... a community understands each other, has the same values, the same vision, supports each other, grows together. A community is the product of all our creative and individual skills...". Above all, the willingness to give is more important here than to take, because only if everyone wants to contribute something can everyone benefit from it. We at Software company doubleSlash live the Code of Conduct and see ourselves as a community. The credo "What you like to do, you do better" is very important. We are therefore all the more pleased to be able to host this community event this year. as host and sponsortogether with partners and sponsors such as medialesson and Microsoft.

Swag packages and Scott Hanselmann ensured a successful finale
Another highlight of the conference was the Closing Keynote by Scott Hanselman. Scott used his own blog to show how he brought it from 2002 to 2020. Scott illustrated the impressive journey of blog data from the hard disk of a computer under a desk to the cloud and what this means for the data.
Of course, one thing should not be missing at any community conference: Swag - Fancy stickers and other gimmicks for the dev community. To make the swag heart beat faster, the organizers of the #AzDevCom together with their sponsors over 100 swag packages put together and sent out. In addition to fancy stickers, the special event package also included lunch and at least one coffee break.
