Since my first blogpost has done a lot in the world of the digital key: BMW has introduced the Digital Key Plus, UWB as a further protocol for the digital key. Data transmission introducedand selected Samsung and Google smartphones have also been released.
The future or already a reality? The digital vehicle key on the smartphone has been around for several years. It was already possible to open the vehicle with a smartphone in 2013, and five years later BMW introduced a real digital vehicle key. With certain Samsung smartphones, the vehicle could not only be opened, but also started.
